Activities of the Gedenkstätte Neuengamme
The Study Centre of the Gedenkstätte in Neuengamme is very active. In addition to the organisation of conferences, symposia, seminars and exhibitions (including the exhibition of Pierre Fertil’s drawings in the old Walther Werke in 2010), a work camp was held in the summer of 2010 for young people from eleven different countries.
A new youth camp was planned for the summer of 2011. This will allow grandchildren of former inmates to deepen their knowledge of the history of the camp. For more information, please contact

The Centre also published two new journals:
* one entitled “Neuengamme’s study notebooks” The first issue is devoted to family research materials;
* the other is called “The Neuengamme Colloquia” and devotes its first edition to the Neuengamme camp and its kommandos: History – Post-war – Memory – Training.
